Design, fabrication and characterization of photonic nanostructured devices
Research Abstract
It’s a significant topic to manipulate the propagation of light in controllable ways. Such a design is available by employing artificial photonic crystals, whose design can be engineered in order to control light propagation in a desidered manner . In particular, by introducing phase shifts along the interfaces of the crystal, anomalous reflection or refraction of light could be observed. The research project is aimed at the design, fabrication and characterization of new photonic nanostructured devices to be integrated in silicon microelectronic chips for the realization of a new class of electronic and optic circuits.
