Implementation of Precision Timing Protocol on FPGA for the real time distributed Control and Data Acquisition system

Research Abstract

In Divertor Tokamak Test, multiple plasma diagnostics generate data flow more than 100Gb/sec and this data need to be sent to Plasma Control System and CODAS (Control and Data Acquisition System) in real time for the accurate measurement of plasma states and control of relevant actuators, Divertor Tokamak Test Distributed Control and Data Acquisition System is a complex and challenging due to Network Infrastructure and multiple nodes generates latency issues. Therefore, our aim is to develop a customized hardware-software integrated data acquisition system that includes high speed computing platforms such as FPGAs to support parallel processing of real-time data, realization of precision timing protocols enabling low latency, low jitter, and high data rates.
