Research Abstract
This study proposes the design of an integrated edge/cloud system based on a multi-technology mobile communication IoT gateway (SGW-MM), aiming to provide robust, scalable, and environmentally friendly communication, addressing challenges such as cloud data congestion and latency limitations in V2X communications. To achieve this goal, the integration of IoT, LPWAN, and Cellular technologies is investigated, along with the application of novel techniques and models. These will undergo rigorous experiments in both real-world and software-simulated environments to ensure the functionality and effectiveness of the device for large-scale implementation. A successful implementation of the proposed SGW-MM highlights the potential to enhance road safety, optimize vehicle performance, and contribute to the sustainability of transportation systems. Furthermore, its ability to amplify the frequency spectrum opens up new opportunities for a broader range of applications, both within the vehicular domain and in the context of smart cities.
