Research Topic

Distribution, reuse and interoperability of simulation models into heterogeneous distributed computing environments

Research Abstract

The term simulation is referred to the application of mathematical and software techniques used to reproduce artificially and study the qualitative and quantitative behavior of a system both existing and/or developing. Although it offers many advantages related to the possibility of doing controlled experiments on an artificial representation of a system; it has important disadvantages such as, difficulties to reuse simulation models already made; lack of rules and procedures by which to make interoperable models created with different Simulation Packages (SP); lack of mechanisms for executing simulations into distributed and heterogeneous environments. In this context, my research activities concern the definition of methods, models and techniques to address, in an integrated way, the issues of distribution, reuse and interoperability of heterogeneous simulation environments.
