The doctoral course (PhD) in ICT operates at the Department of Computer, Modeling, Electronics and Systems Engineering (DIMES) of the University of Calabria. The PhD chair is Prof. Giancarlo Fortino of DIMES.
Mission: educate top-level researchers capable of carrying out and coordinating research activities aimed at the development and integration of innovative ICT systems, both in the academic and industrial fields. The PhD is multidisciplinary and strongly oriented towards the development and integration of new methodologies for the creation of innovative ICT systems.
It is organized in 3 Curricula:
(1) Computer Engineering and Computer Science;
(2) Electronics, Telecommunications and Control Systems;
(3) Internet of Things.
The subject areas are: Automatic Control, Computer Science, Electrical and
Electronic Measurements, Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Fields, Electronics, Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, Telecommunications, Principles of Chemical Engineering, Sciences of the Book and Document. Educational activities are planned throughout the 3-year PhD program, aiming at providing basic and advanced knowledge in the various research topics and at fostering the acquisition of a methodology to carry out research activities
